In December of 2010,
I spent quite a bit of time praying about my blog...
asking God to use it to help show people how great He is.
A month later, in January of 2011,
we found out we were pregnant with our second child...
after over three years of infertility.
Four months after that,
we learned that the little boy I was carrying
had a serious heart defect and Down Syndrome.
We chose the name Jude Matthew Pelton.
Jude means "praise."
We wanted the Lord to be praised through his life.
Matthew means "gift of God."
We were receiving our little guy as a gift.
We never imagined just how meaningful that name would become.
On August 15, 2011, Jude was born.
We soon learned, however, that he faced some additional challenges,
including subdural hematoma, kidney failure, and an additional heart defect.
On October 21, 2011,
after 67 sweet days of life with us,
our baby boy met Jesus.
I blogged each day of his life.
And, now this blog contains a record of my sweet Jude's life...
as well as a record of God's faithfulness to us throughout.

I came across your story and had to comment that I'm praying for you. I've been blessed by the life of your baby boy and I'm so sorry that his life was short. Even though he is in heaven, you will always be a member of our "club" (those parenting a child with designer genes.) Thank you for your willingness to give him life, in spite of the fear, and for giving God the glory in every minute of his life, but especially in his passing. May the Lord comfort you and richly bless your future.
