Please pray for Dr. Lagerstrom.
Tomorrow morning at 7:30am Mountain Time,
he will be performing surgery on our littlest man's heart.
He doesn't feel great about the timing,
but the threat of another infection
as well as the detrimental effects of the continued use of prostaglandin
are leading them to move forward with his surgery.
Prostaglandin (PGE) is the medicine that is keeping the ductus open.
The ductus usually closes when a baby is born and begins to use his lungs.
Our nurse today told us that she has never seen a child on PGE for as long as Jude has been on it.
He was supposed to have this surgery on Day 2 of life,
He was supposed to have this surgery on Day 2 of life,
but ensuing complications have prevented it.
So, we're extremely excited and grateful that he's going to the operating room tomorrow.
Please pray:
Pray that the surgery will be very successful.
Pray for wisdom and guidance for Dr. Lagerstrom and the doctors and nurses involved in his care.
Pray that we will trust the Lord in the coming days.
I will remember the deeds of the Lord;
yes, I will remember your miracles of long ago.
I will meditate on all Your works
and consider all Your mighty deeds.
Your ways, O God, are holy.
What God is so great as our God?
You are the God who performs miracles;
You display Your power among the peoples.
With Your mighty arm You redeemed Your people,
the descendents of Jacob and Joseph.
Psalm 77:11-15

I was the annoying amateur who grabbed my camera and distracted the subjects. :-)
Wow. Wow. Wow. We'll be praying!

I have been praying for your precious little guy, and will especially pray about his surgery tomorrow. We are good friends with Tony and Christine and have been praying for Jude, and your family, since he was born. I just wanted to tell you too that I have been getting to spend every Wed. evening with your sweet little Caleb, at Awana Cubbies. He is in my room and it's been a joy to me to see his smiling face each week!
ReplyDeletePraying for everyone involved! God is good.

ReplyDeleteFather God, I pray for Jude right now and the the doctors and support staff that are working so diligently to repair his heart. Grant them extra skill and ability to perform the repairs that are needed. Help them to recognize clearly what needs to be repaired, and to know exactly how to perform the repairs. Oh Lord, that You would grant extra skill and ability to Dr. Langerstrom as his fingers move to perform these healing repairs. Oh that You would protect Jude. Keep his body strong. I ask that you destroy any bacteria, fungi, or viruses that might endanger him. Please protect him from infection. Oh God, I give you praise for who You are. Thank you for Your love for us. I thank You for Your wonderful gift of life that You have give to us in Jude. We love him, and it is so comforting to know that our care for him pales in comparison to Your love for him. Again Father, we praise you for Jude's life. We lift him up to you and know with confidence that You are in control. You are so worthy of all glory, honor, and praise. Heavenly Father, please surround Mandy and Brandon with Your holy presence. Grant them peace. Give them strength. I thank you God that the entire Pelton family is being held in Your hands of protection and love. They need you so desperately right now. Please shield them, encourage them, and carry them. In the mighty name of Jesus Christ I pray, AMEN!
